Showboat throws Italian Festival; Il Mulino opens
Published: Oct 09, 2008

Just in time for Columbus Day, the Showboat Casino-Hotel is throwing an Italian Festival that offers a little something for everyone - particularly food.

The four-day holiday weekend - one of the biggest weekends of the year for Atlantic City casinos - kicks off with Chef Chris Scarduzio of Caesars Atlantic City's Mia and Philadelphia's Le Bec-Fin joining forces with four-time World Champion Pizza Acrobat Justin Wadstein at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the House of Blues Music Hall.

What the heck is pizza acrobatics? Well, the California resident and 2007 Pizza Olympic champ will throw and flip pizzas as he dances, keeping the 12-inch disc of dough intact at all times.

Throughout the weekend, vendors will create a street fair atmosphere on the main level concourse with carts featuring sandwiches, pasta, cappuccino, gelato and more from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11 and 12, and noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13. More
