King reigns in Atlantic City / Blues legend B.B. King satisfies crowd, local teen Patrick Droney opens the show

ATLANTIC CITY - The House of Blues here presented an intriguing double bill of electric guitar firepower Saturday night - a music icon in the twilight of his career along with a newcomer working hard to earn the designation as a rising star in his genre.

B.B. King, 83, headlined in the Music Hall with Patrick Droney, 16, of Linwood, as his opening act.

The King of the Blues last performed at the House of Blues Atlantic City in March, but this was his first appearance here since the release of newest CD, the critically acclaimed "One Kind Favor," which was produced by T Bone Burnett.

As a way to compensate for his advancing age, a King doesn't give the audience undiluted King singing and guitar playing. More

West shows his pain via song on melancholy 'Heartbreak'

It's hard to call Kanye West an underdog these days. Though he struggled very early in his career to be taken seriously as a rapper, he's is arguably rap's biggest name now. His first three albums have cemented him as a multiplatinum-selling megastar and multiple Grammy winner. Given his award-show tantrums and altercations with paparazzi, it'd be easier to consider the self-proclaimed "Louis Vuitton Don" just another arrogant celebrity.
