Trail blazing can now be fit into a comfortable day hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail.

That is, if one is bold enough to abandon couches and desks, the beige walls of living rooms and offices for world-class vistas of Lake Tahoe near Tahoe City.

Not exactly a tough call, is it?

A newly opened 4.5-mile reroute of a stretch of the Tahoe Rim Trail was formerly a 3.5-mile steep and rocky strip fit for a one-way mountain bike route and not much else. More
