LINWOOD - It was a night for linebackers and defensive linemen at Mainland Regional High School on Friday night.

Quarterbacks and running backs spent the game scrambling for survival.

Defenses dominated as Mainland beat Holy Spirit 24-0 in a matchup of undefeated Cape-Atlantic League football teams. Mainland is No. 1 in The Press' Elite 11 and Spirit No. 10.

The Mustangs (4-0) held Spirit to 89 yards of offense. The Spartans (4-1) did not move the ball inside the Mainland 30-yard line the entire game. More
